Contraindications

Carboxytherapy has the following contraindications:

Severe CAD, acute embolism, thrombophlebitis and phlebothrombosis, gangrene, kidney failure, non-compensated high blood pressure, post-stroke state, pregnancy and lactation, severe obesity with BMI over 25 (in case of body contours correction), anti-coagulation medications (Orfarin, Warfarin, Pelentan), acute infection, fever, hysteria, fear of injections.

Contraindications should also include alcohol or drug intoxication, severe immune system disorders, progredient tuberculosis, tumors of any origin, chronic diseases in the state of deterioration, infectious skin inflammations – impetigo, herpes simplex or herpes zoster, cardiac decompensation, severe forms of diabetes.

Moreover, in case a patient undergoes a course of anti-coagulation treatment or has any issues with blood clotting ability, a procedure has to be postponed.

Elderly age of a patient should also be considered a contraindication.
